April 5, 1940 – December 16, 2024
Laura Marie (Wilson) Argento passed away December 16, 2024 peacefully in her sleep in Grass Valley. She was 84.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, CA 95959.
Laura was born April 5, 1940 in Napa, CA to Sam and Viola Wilson. Laura attended schools in Napa and Sonoma where she met her grade-school sweetheart,Tony Argento whom she married on October 28, 1958 in Reno, NV. They moved to Grass Valley in 1965, where she worked as a Merchant Bank Teller before her retirement.
Over the years Laura was actively involved with the Grass Valley 4-Wheelers Jeep Club, the Elks and Moose Lodge, Native Daughters of the Golden West, and for many years, her Happy Trails Bus Tours. Laura loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.
Laura will especially be remembered for her dedicated love of family, her patriotism, impeccable handwriting and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her son Tony, Jr. and wife Marci of Reno, NV, son Michael and wife Cindy of Penn Valley, grandchildren Jamie Miller and husband Kolby of Grass Valley; Joe Argento and wife Amy of Cromberg, CA; and Christopher Argento of Portland, OR, and great grandchildren Kasey and Cole Miller of Grass Valley.
She's preceded in death by her parents Sam and Viola Wilson of Sonoma, CA, and brothers Sammy Wilson of Napa and Alfred Wilson of Davis, CA.
