David Marsh Obituary

David Brian Marsh, 65, of Crawfordville, passed away at home, Friday, May 5, 2017.

He was born on April 30, 1952, in Crites, West VA. The family moved to Tallahassee in the early sixties. A fixture in the solar industry for decades, he was the longtime owner of Tallahassee Energy & Construction, LLC, until his retirement due to illness in 2013.

David is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anne, his mother Sylvia J. Marsh, his sister Christine Rabon (Charles), his brother, Douglas H. Marsh, Jr. (Debra) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Douglas H. Marsh, Sr. and his sisters Lethie Lanham and Carol Hart.

David spent his life helping others. He tried to help his customers save money on their utility bills using solar as well as other technologies to make homes more energy-efficient. He also believed that alternative energy sources could help reduce the impact of energy usage on the planet. He was always ready to lend a hand to his family, friends and even strangers, and was a friend to every cat he ever met.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 with a reception to follow on the church grounds, at Promise Land Ministries, 3167 Coastal Highway, Crawfordville.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Promise Land Ministries, 20 Church Road, Crawfordville, FL 32327.

I met David around 1972 through my brother, Robbie. David was always a very kind, generous gentleman.

David and I became friends in the mid 1980s when he installed our solar water heater. Shortly thereafter he contacted me to ask if Gov. Lawton Chiles could come out and do a press conference about solar water heaters. It was a neat experience that we'll always treasure. David had a sharp and curious mind and was also a skilled artist and writer. We were like minded in many areas and had some lively discussions. David had a kind heart and deep faith in God. He knew his days were short and asked for prayers for a "quick and easy trip". David now lives in the spirit with the Lord and others of his friends and family. May God grant peace and comfort to Anne and all of David's family.

David, we miss you already. You showed grace and compassion under incredibly difficult circumstances, and I will always appreciate the extra love and attention that you gave my mom and Jake. You are with mom and Lethie again, and that brings me some comfort today.
