Charles Gilchrist Obituary
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Timothy and Josephine Gilchrist.
Charlie was employed as an expediter for Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics for many years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a communicant of St. Clare Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Timothy M. Gilchrist, of Bradenton, Fla., and Mark J. Gilchrist, of Maui, Hawaii; his daughter, Peggy J. Ferraro, of Wakefield; a sister, Frances Lupinacci, of Westerly; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Charlie was predeceased by a son, Peter F. Gilchrist, and a daughter, Cathy J. Gilchrist.
Visiting hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements to be announced at the family's convenience in the spring. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, is handling the arrangements. For online condolences, please go to www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com.

Aunt Gin, Peggy, Tim, and Mark and all of the rest of the Gilchrist family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Uncle Brud was a very special man and I have wonderful memories of him that will live with me forever. I love you all very much.
