David A. Strong, 75, of Ashaway, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Westerly Hospital. Born in Norfolk, VA on October 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Herbert and Bertha (Dow) Strong.
David served proudly in the National Guard Reserves after attending Barrington College. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee for Harris Graphics as a machinist, toolmaker and serving as the President of the union. He also built motorcycles and cars along with doing auto body work and carpentry. Everyone loved David. He had a big personality and enjoyed a good laugh and to joke around. "The earth lost a great man of integrity but heaven gained the strongest, most loving man we've ever had the honor to hug, cherish and spend time with. His last breath on earth was his first in heaven, from a hospital bed to the streets of gold." Praise God!
He leaves his sons David I. Strong and wife Patricia and Eric T. Strong; grandchildren Isaiah Strong and wife Rachael, Jeremiah Strong and wife Kerrin and Kayla Miranda and husband Felix; great-grandchildren Elijah and Zephaniah Strong and Arianna Miranda. He was predeceased by a sister Linda Holman.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to the Pilgrims Baptist Church, Hopkinton, RI.

I will always be comforted by the memory of Mr. Strong attending my mom's memorial service. We talked and hugged after the service..we both bonded in the truth of Jesus' love. I am comforted in knowing his heart belongs to our Heavenly Father...where he rests in the comfort of Jesus.
