Donald S. Hindle Sr.

Donald S. Hindle Sr., of Old Post Rd., Charlestown, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Westerly Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Mae E. (Miller) Hindle.
Born at home in Bradford, he was the son of the late Virginius and Emma Hindle.
Don was a lifelong businessman. He was the owner of Don's TV Repair, making housecalls to repair televisions in the 1950s through the 70s. He was also the owner of RiciDon's Market and Restaurant in Charlestown and, most recently, owned and operated ADS Rubbish Removal for over 30 years until the onset of his illness. He enjoyed talking and visiting with his customers over the years.
Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by his five sons, Charles Harkness, of Charlestown; John Harkness and his wife, Shirley, of Euless, Texas; Ronald "Rocky" Harkness Sr. and his wife, Jane, of Ashaway; Ricky Hindle and his wife, Claudia, of Amherst, N.H.; Donald Hindle Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Cape Coral, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter and his brother, Robert "Lauren" Hindle.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
