Eleanor Cimalore Obituary
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Josephine Strafach. Eleanor was also predeceased by her eight siblings, Nicholas, Nat, Jimmy, Mondo, Frank, Joey, and Johnny Strafach, and her twin sister Carmella Lamb.
In Eleanor's earlier years she worked for Bess Eaton, Spiros where she enjoyed serving and building friendships with the people of Westerly. She was a very proud resident of Oak Street where she was born and raised and shared many wonderful 'Oak' Street memories. Eleanor's passion in life was her family and being the home maker and welcoming her home to family and friends with all the delicious Italian meals, Sunday being her special day from early Mass to the family get togethers at the kitchen table. She faithfully made the holidays the most joyous. She just LOVED being with her family. Her beautiful smile and sense of humor and loving guidance will remain in our hearts forever.
Eleanor was a loving mother to three children, Joseph P. Cimalore, III and wife Cathy, David J. Cimalore and friend Joseph, and Lori J. Scheller and husband Michael. She was such a loving Nonnie to five grandchildren, Kristi and husband Jonathan Ferraro, Joseph and wife Teresa Cimalore, Justin Cimalore, Michael and wife Madison Scheller, and Danny Scheller. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Trinity, Justin Jr, Khloe, Christian and Brynn; and many beautiful nieces and nephews. Eleanor also leaves several beloved in-laws.
Family and friends will be received at visiting hours in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Friday, Oct. 31st from 11:00am to 12:30pm, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. I remember when I used to deliver the Westerly Sun newspaper back in the early 80's and Eleanor was one of my customers on Oak St. She was a very loving and caring person and she will be greatly missed, my family and I used to live on Tower St. My mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Gradilone (married name Lawless), my condolences go out to her family.
