It's hard to believe a year and a half has gone by since Hap's passing. Because he was in my high school class, I still remember him as an awkward but lovable teenager, using humor to lighten the day and cut through the teenage angst we all experienced. He was the first person to tell me that President Kennedy was shot on November 22, 1963, so on that day I always remember him as well as JFK.

I followed Hap at a few stages of my life, First in 1975 as an impressionable Boy Scout on the shooting range at Lake Of Isles, I was impressed by his professionalism and mentoring. I returned to run that same range in 1977 and 1978. In 1982 I joined the Connecticut National Guard and joined Hap on the Guard rifle team. I attribute my 43 years as an instructor, to Hap, and use his mentoring to me to pay forward to others.

My most sincere condolences to the Rocketto family. I had the honor and the pleasure to oft times be in the company of "Hap" while I served on the CT Army Nat'l Guard Pistol Team. A wonderful man to say the least.
