John Boucher Obituary

PAWCATUCK, Conn - John F. Boucher, 75, of Pawcatuck, Conn., passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 1, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary "Mazie" (Shea) Boucher.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Maurice Boucher and Erminia Jones.

John enjoyed a long and successful career in engineering, retiring as the Deputy Department Head at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

He was a lifelong communicant of Saint Michael's Church. His greatest joys were traveling with his wife and the many celebratory gatherings with his close-knit extended family.

He is survived by two sons, John D. Boucher and his wife, Peggy, and Kenneth J. Boucher and his wife, Betty; and two daughters, Susan M. Boucher and her husband, Bud, and Beth Boucher and her husband, David. John also leaves two brothers, Victor Boucher and his wife, Moe, and David Boucher and his wife, Bonnie; as well as his "favorite" sister, Justine Schembri. His life included the love of 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, 95 Main St., Stonington, Conn., on Wednesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. There is no procession to the church from the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck. For those wishing to make donations in his memory, please consider contributing to Saint Michael's Church, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379.

It is with a very sad heart that I pass on my sincere condolences to the family of John and Mary (Maizie). I hope they are in joy together once again in the arms of the Lord. These two dear friends were classmates in SHS. I will miss the e-mails from John that brought reconnected us after so many years. I know he will be dearly missed by all.
