To Joe,
Joe, your passing has made me remember and understand that the work you did on mother earth is still with us to view and enjoy. My family members were stonemasons like you. You both left many find stonewalls, patios, chimney that will stand in member rinse of you. Westerly over the years has many stonemasons and each have their own style that sort of tells who they are. You were a master of your trade Joe and the work you left behind will remind me of you. This past year your family has allowed my wife and I to do your yardwork. Your property has lots of fine stonework about your yard that you left for them to enjoy. Your boxing gloves are still attached to your front yard gate. you are still with us Joe. We truly enjoyed meeting with you and Marie at yard sales over the years.

To all of Joe's family and friends we send our heartfelt thoughts. We loved Joe. He would show up at our store with all of his latest treasures to sell. No matter what offer we made he'd always would counter to earn another $5 or $10. It was a game we all enjoyed. More than anything he was always a kind man and we truly enjoyed his frequent visits to our shop. When I heard today he had recently passed away I literally had to go for a walk to gather myself together. Going to miss our friend Joe. He was such a gentleman to Lyndsey who loved to tease him about making sure he was good to Marie and asking what he was going to do special for her today. Why the teasing? Because for us it was so beautiful to see a man his age still talk about his wife with love and affection. We are truly going to miss Joe. We loved doing business with him and cherished our friendship we developed over the years. Big Joe, we will see you on the other side and we will all go "Pickin" together. Peace My Friend. Algiere Family,
We are sad to hear of Joe passing. Joe and I had several things in common we both enjoyed yard sale with our wife's and met many weekends around town buying things we may never use.
We were both the same age 85, both married 64 years, His wife Marie initials were MM prior to their marriage. My wife Pearl initials were PP prior to our marriage. Both of our family members were stone masons. and built many stonewalls around town. Joe was a strong man. I am a FOP member, Joe was a FOPA member of the Westerly Police Department.
We were both deer hunters. Joe and I crossed paths many times on mother earth and our friendship was sincere. In my Indian world I give Joe the Indian name of "Stone Wall Joe"
Where we are now Joe was. Where Joe is now, we shall be. Rest in peace my brother we will meet again on the other side.

To the Algiere Family - I was saddened to read of Joe's passing. For a short period time his family lived on Main Street in Noank two doors from our family. Tom was in my 1st grade class at Noank School. My mom took a picture of me (age 2), Joe & Donald Cote on our porch. The Cote family lived next door to the Algiere's. Please accept my condolences on your loss. May memories sustain you during these very difficult times. Irene Pezzolesi McDonough

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing. A kind man that made us all smile. I am going to miss him at the auctions buying that truckload of stuff to peddle around town. You all gained a very special guardian watching over you.
