Julia Groppelli Obituary
Julia is survived by one son John J. Groppelli, Jr., and his wife, Judith (Wildes); and one daughter, Carol A. and her husband, Raymond Allen, all of Pawcatuck. In addition, she leaves two brothers, Dominic Perrone, of Groton and Arthur Perrone, of Norwich; as well as six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Groppelli was predeceased by six brothers, Angelo, James, John, Joseph, Anthony, and Epiphanio (Piff) Perrone; and two sisters, Rose Tolvo and Anna Perrone.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a funeral liturgy at St. Mary's Church, 95 Main St., Stonington, on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael Capital Campaign or Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island in Julia's memory. As a child I was in Groppelli's Market very often. they were very kind and generous family that extended credit to people when they couldn't buy groceries. I am very sorry for your loss.

Sorry about the loss of your mother, Carol. We always loved seeing your mom's smiling face at the nursing home, when we had our church service there. She will be greatly missed especially by all the kids we brought with us.

I remember so well the trips down the Norwich-Westerly Road on Sunday afternoons to visit Uncle John and Aunt Julie. She was always such a sweetheart and now she is a saint with Nannie, Pa, Anna, and all those of her family who have gone before her.

Nana was the sweetest and I know I speak for all of us who worked with Maria, we loved it when she came in and had to sit on her pillow so she could get her head in the sink!! Just one of many great memories. She will be missed.
