Michael L. Castagna

WESTERLY - Michael L. Castagna, devoted husband of 35 years to Ann (Conti) Castagna of Ava Street in Westerly, and proud father to Andrew Drew Castagna of Boston, passed away peacefully with his family by his side in the home he built, on Monday, November 10, 2025, just days before his 73rd birthday.

Born and raised in Westerly, Mike was the son of the late Pasquale and Bernice Castagna. A lifelong resident of his beloved hometown, he dedicated more than 30 years to the Town of Westerly, retiring as the Assistant Superintendent of the Public Works Department. Known for his strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail, Mike took great pride in all that he did, whether managing a project, tending to his gardens, or carving wood in his younger years.

Mikes quick wit and unique sense of humor brought laughter to those around him. A devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, he found joy in life's simple pleasures, listening to music, exploring local backroads, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved golfing with his buddies and taking in the beauty of New England.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann; his son, Drew; his siblings, Gary Castagna of Westerly, Sharon Ferguson of Florida, and Patricia Berard of Connecticut; as well as his many nieces, nephews, a large extended family of in-laws, and dear friends who loved him greatly.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. A Celebration of Mikes Life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Calabrese Club, 28 Pleasant Street, Westerly, RI, to honor the man who gave so much love, laughter, and loyalty to those around him.
