Nancy Ann Capalbo

Nancy Ann (Gingerelli) Capalbo, 80, of Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Health Center on Monday, October 3, 2022. Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late James and Nancy Gingerelli.

Nancy was the heart and soul of her family and worked tirelessly to provide for her children and her mother. She enjoyed cooking for a crowd and a hot meal was always ready to be shared. Her sharp wit, resilience and strong will endeared her to everyone she met. Many knew her from The Washington Trust Co., the Town Hall, the YMCA and most recently Pawcatuck Roofing. She spent her summers with her children and nephews on the Westerly Town Beach. Her five grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished her time with them. A woman of great faith, she could often be found attending daily mass or volunteering for various functions at St. Pius X Church.

She will be dearly missed by her four children, Dawn King (Raymond) of Billerica, MA, Susan Capalbo of Cornelius, NC, Stephanie Troupe (Bobby) of Westerly and Christopher Capalbo (Amy) of Buffalo, NY; her sister Ann Marie Messenger (Arthur) of Pawcatuck; and five grandchildren, Luca, Sophia, Ahna Capalbo, Benjamin, and Sophie Troupe. Nancy was predeceased by her son Richard S. Capalbo, II.

Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Westerly at 11am on Thursday, Oct. 6th. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly, RI 02891 or to the Alzheimer's Association of RI in Nancy's memory.
