Patricia Dumke-Thomas
1931 - 2021
Patricia (LaRosa) Dumke-Thomas, passed away on June 18th, 2021, at Artis Senior Living in North Branford, CT, at age 90. Born in the Bronx, NY, on February 17th, 1931, she was the daughter of Ignatius J. and Henrietta A. LaRosa. Pat grew up in Pelham Manor, NY and graduated from Hollins College in Virginia. She married William E. Dumke Sr. on June 30th, 1955.
Pat raised her family in Scarsdale, NY and resided there from 1967 to 1998, where Pat worked as a real estate agent at Julia B. Fee. When Pat was not finding the perfect buyer for the perfect house in Scarsdale, she loved attending concerts and art exhibits in New York City. Pat was known for her panache in fashion as well as decorating. Pat loved being a mother; she put her heart and soul into it, dedicating herself to her family, creating a home-life built on love and commitment.
In 1998, Pat and Bill Dumke retired to Stonington, CT, where she was a docent at the Lyman Allen Museum in New London, CT. Sadly, Bill died in April 2001. In 2006, Pat met and married Gordon A. Thomas, splitting time between their homes in Quanaduck Cove and West Lebanon, NH. Pat continued to enjoy music, art, lectures, and all that Stonington had to offer.
Pat was predeceased in death by her parents, both Bill Dumke and Gordon Thomas, and her siblings, John LaRosa and Janet (LaRosa) Hohn. She is survived by her five children: William Dumke Jr, and his wife Kelley Gipson of Charlestown, RI; John Dumke and his wife Kristina of Westport, CT; Andrea McDonald and her husband Brian of Stamford, CT; Leslie Dumke of New Haven, CT: and Sarah Dumke of Bellevue, WA. Pat leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Allison and Haley Dumke; Henry and William Dumke; Robert, Lanning (nee McDonald) Ardente and Patrick McDonald; Elizabeth and Katherine Walters; and one great granddaughter, Camilla Ardente.

Giving my condolences to Pat´s children. I have missed Pat for over a year now but I will always remember her, even from day 1 moving into Artis. She REALLY touched my heart like no other. I remember when I would constantly visit her through out the day and we would make each other smile and laugh. She is truly one of a kind. My mother and Artis hairdresser , Mena, adored Pat as well and they would look forward being in eachother´s company. Pat, I love you and will always remember what you had told me about life.

I'm so sorry for your loss and my family's loss. Pat was a wonderful friend and sister in law. When John and I married, she welcomed me and my daughter, Jennifer, with open arms into the family. Our family had many wonderful times with Pat and all the LaRosa family. I will always love her and miss her dearly. God bless you all. Always your family.
