Ronald Locke Obituary

Ronald T. Locke

FORT MYERS, FL - Ronald T. Locke, age 85, passed away on December 13, 2024, in Richmond, RI. Born on April 4, 1939, Ronald spent his formative years in South Kingston, completing his high school education there. Ronald dedicated 28 years to Pfizer. His passion for sports led him to a professional baseball career with the New York Mets and later as a softball player with the Florida Legends, a Super Major Team. His love for baseball continued into his retirement, as he worked at Jet Blue Stadium in Fort Myers, Florida, for the Boston Red Sox for 12 years.

A resident of Fort Myers for the last 25 years, Ronald was known for his fun-loving nature and as a devoted family man. An avid sports enthusiast, especially baseball, he enjoyed the camaraderie and the thrill of the game.

He is survived by his loving wife, Annette Locke (Lefebvre), his sisters Alberta Gilman and his brothers Walter Locke Jr. and Gary Locke. Ronald was a proud father to daughters Pamela Trenholm (Kevin), Lisa Adams (Rich), and Paula Rathbun (Chris). He was also a cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren, Sean, Kayla, Krista, Lindsay, Jamie, Ryan, Hailey, Cody, and Evan. Four great-grandchildren: Nolan, Nash, Levi, and Ellie.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Locke Sr. and Sadie Locke (Sturdevant), and his sister Myra Carr.

It's been a long time since I have seen Ronnie, but I have many happy memories of him. Most of them centered around baseball, of course. I also remember when he was at my father's garage fixing up a trailer to go get Annette and bring her back to R.I. Thery were such a lovely couple and a lot of fun.
Sending warm thoughts to the entire family.
