Christopher Lundin Obituary

Christopher Lundin, 29

With great sadness and broken hearts; we announce the sudden passing of Chris Lundin. He passed away on May 9, 2025. He was born on June 3, 1995 in Libby, MT to Robert and Stephanie (Lund) Lundin.

To know Chris, was to love Chris. His terrible dad jokes could make an entire room burst out laughing, and he loved to tell them when you were least expecting it. He loved to pick on his niece, Ahriya, but she would dish it right back. Chris was a huge animal lover, and animals gravitated to him. Chris was passionate about 3 things: Family, snowboarding, and chainsaws.

Chris grew up in Troy with his parents and older brothers, Matt and Greg. But there would always be either cousins, aunts, uncles or friends around; he was always surrounded by love. His best friends, Cody Johnston and Brandon Park, were always more than likely to be found with Chris, and they have remained close all these years. When all three of the Lundin boys played soccer, the family would hit the road together for games. Chris's father, Rob, enjoyed soccer just as much as his boys and helped coach.

Chris had a strong work ethic and was a great provider for his family. In 2014, Chris started working for the US Forest Service as a Wildland Firefighter and worked there until his passing. Coworkers turned into family after working so closely and traveling the country together. Chris got his love of chainsaws from his father. Friends would say they always felt safe when they knew Chris was running the saw on fires. He knew what he was doing and loved to teach anyone who wanted to learn. Though Chris will always argue that Husqvarna is better, he ran a Stihl 500i at work and found an exact replica in a toddler size for his son. Chris wanted to pass his love for the woods onto his son, and his grandpas and uncles will help keep that alive.

Chris had an extreme love for snowboarding. If he wasn't on the mountain, he was thinking about it, or watching videos about it. Trying to get him to wear a helmet was near to impossible, and he was fearless. Season passes to Schweitzer and new snowboarding gear was a yearly thing. Road trips with a truck full of friends and snowboards was an ideal day for Chris. Chris couldn't wait to get his son on the mountain with him.

Chris married his 8th grade sweetheart and best friend of 17 years, Brittany Savage, on June 18, 2022. On November 8, 2022, they welcomed Chris's pride and joy; Axel Lane Lundin. There was nothing Chris was ever more proud of than his son, and Axel is equally as proud to have him as his "Da da". The smile that Chris gave to Brittany when he handed her Axel for the first time was pure pride. Axel will forever be our link to Chris.

Chris is preceded in death by all of his grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, and a whole herd of dogs waiting for him up there. He is survived by his wife Brittany; son Axel; Parents Rob & Steph, Brothers Matt (Aja) Lundin & Greg (Krystal), Mom & Dad in-laws Ross & Joy Savage; Brother in-law Dillon Savage (Kylie); nieces Ahriya & Myla, and nephew Erik. Chris has more aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends than we could possibly ever list. He was deeply loved and his memory will forever live on.
