Ted Werner Obituary

Ted Werner, 74

February 22, 1951 - October 10, 2025

The Man, The Myth, The Legend

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord, Ted Werner, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 10, 2025, likely after first making the angels laugh and then helping them reorganize the celestial tool shed.

Born in Rockville Center, New York, Ted lived a life defined by kindness, faith, service, and an absolutely unstoppable sense of humor. He believed deeply in the gospel of Jesus Christ- and in the power of a good laugh to get through just about anything.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ted served in many callings, including as bishop. He ministered to others with love, wisdom, and a twinkle in his eye that often meant a joke was coming. His counsel lifted hearts, his laughter lightened burdens, and his faith anchored countless lives.

To his family, Ted was a hero, a teacher, and the world's best storyteller. He taught his children to love God, serve others, and never take life, or themselves too seriously. His home was a place of warmth, laughter, and the occasional dad joke.

Ted loved cars, hunting, fishing, flying, traveling and spending time at McGregor Lake boating with the grandkids. He spent his life quietly blessing others, fixing what was broken, cheering up the lonely, showing up when it mattered, and never hesitating to lend a hand. He didn't just preach charity, he lived it every single day.

Though our hearts ache with his passing, we find comfort in knowing he's now continuing his service on the other side, probably telling jokes, fishing with old friends, and making sure everyone up there feels right at home.

He leaves behind his loving wife Audrey, two children, eight grandchildren, and a legacy of faith, love, and laughter that will ripple through generations.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 7th at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1380 Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Ted by serving someone in need, sharing a good laugh, or as he would say, "finding the joy in the journey and come what may and love it."

Ted was our High Priest´s quorum President in the Longmont Colorado Stake. His love and his service was an example to all of us.
Sister Werner, I am sad to know of Ted´s passing. But I am comforted knowing I will see him and give him a big hug again on the other side of the veil. I know he will be there to welcome me and introduce me to the other members of the Lord´s Priesthood. I know Ted will have an assignment for me to do and that big smile to go with it.

Audrey and family,
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Ted. He was more than a friend to us - he was a mentor, a guide, and a constant example of what it means to live a life of service, integrity, and kindness. Ted had a way of lifting others up quietly. Whether it was helping someone with housing, supporting their education or strengthening our Rotary club projects, his impact on our community is immeasurable.
On a personal level, Ted shaped our lives in ways that will stay with us forever. He was someone we trusted, turned to for advice, and admired deeply. His willingness to listen, find common ground, and act with integrity inspired us both in our professional and personal lives. He became part of our family story, and Riley adored him as well.
It's hard to imagine a world without Ted's presence - his wisdom, humor, and the way he always showed up for others. We send all our love and prayers to you. May you find comfort in the incredible legacy of goodness and strength he leaves behind, and in the countless lives he touched.
With love and gratitude,
Zach and Tracy
