Bernard I. Bratys

BRATYS Bernard I. Bratys, 85, of Willoughby and formerly of Worthington, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his son's home. He was born July 19, 1926 in Gallitzin, PA. Bernie served in Army during WWII as a paratrooper. Bernie received his Accounting degree from St Francis, PA, where he was a member of the golf team. He remained an avid golfer his entire life. Bernie was a Commercial Real Estate Agent and got his dream job of helping develop Muirfield Village in the late 1970s. Survivors include his wife, Joy; children, Debbie Bratys of Eastlake, Dawn (Gary) Brochetti of Euclid, Dana (Mark) Bratys-Chesser of Chardon, Dan (Linda) Bratys of Willoughby, Darryl (Nancy) Bratys of Dublin; grandchildren, Jennifer, Dan, Jr., Ashley, David, Aaron, Matthew, Hayley, Markus, Lorilei, Whitney, Sarah, Logan and Faith; great-grandchild, Mason; step-son, James (Sue) Cornwell of Doniphan, MO; sister, Mary Petyak of Gallitzin, PA. Bernard was preceded in death by his son David Bratys, and his parents Walter and Mary Bratyszewski. A Memorial Service will be held on June 9th, at 1 p.m., at CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 5970 GODOWN ROAD, COLUMBUS, OHIO 43235.
