John Schuette Obituary

Schuette John R. Schuette, 79, went to be with his Lord on Friday evening May 1, 2015 surrounded by his family. John was a resident of Liberty Township, Powell, Ohio his entire life. He had a fierce pride in his church, All Saints Lutheran Church, Worthington, Ohio and was a Founding Charter member. He served on the Church Council and was actively involved in all aspects of his church family including free snow removal for 25 years. John was an avid fisherman and spent summers on his boat at Lake Erie with his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, grandchildren, and church activities. He especially enjoyed arguing common sense banters over political rhetoric in any arena and he met his Lord with the same courage of conviction. John is preceded in death by his parents Walter P. Schuette and Garnet E. (Maddox) Schuette, sons Kenneth M. Schuette, Russell P. Schuette, step-son Harold H. Hienz. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Betty M. (Herrboldt) Schuette; sons, Michael W. Schuette (Debbie), Roger L. Schuette (Debbie), John Marvin Schuette (Sandy); daughter-in-law, Debbie (Culp) Schuette; beloved daughter, Kathy L. (Schuette) Glassburn; and very special niece, Cheryl L. (Schuette) Andrietti. He is also survived by three sisters, Virginia (Schuette) Dodd, Christine Schuette (John) Williams, and MariAlice Schuette (Rick) Wells; one brother, W. Alfred "Alvie" (Linda) Schuette; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. John will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 20 at ALL SAINTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6770 N. High Street, Worthington, OH with Pastor Bonnie Gerber officiating. Betty, I was so sorry to hear about John's passing. I will never forget how much help and love you both have shown to my family throughout my entire life. John was a remarkable man and a wonderful person. I was blessed to have your family in my life. I thank God that I had pleasure of knowing John, his laughs, his strong character, and his help learning about local politics! Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,

John will be missed a lot, a very dignified man and a great neighbor. I enjoyed serving as Olentangy Schools Development Committee members with him over 10 years. His construction expertise was adopted many different occasions resulting thousands of dollars savings to the District.
He will be missed by our family greatly, our condolences to Betty and the rest of the family.

To Betty and the entire Schuette family - the Jordan family is praying for your strength during this time and peace knowing John knew Jesus. I will never forget John's annual GroundHog Day cards, his tireless efforts to make the world a better place - even showing up after being in the ER all day to vote at a CC mtg, our talks about guns and politics and construction, his sweet side, his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Much love and many blessings to you all by Melissa, Kris, Macy and David Jordan.
