Elmer Cassatt Obituary
As many we love at ND Veteran's Home are immune compromised, we ask this service to be for Elmer's close family and friends. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City in the spring. Elmer died January 31, 2025, at the Veterans Home.
Elmer H. Cassatt was born June 19, 1922, in Leal, North Dakota. He was the son of Herman and Lena (Rudow) Cassatt. Elmer grew up in Leal and graduated from Leal High School.
Elmer entered the United States Army in 1942. Elmer served in WWII from 1942-1946, in Korea from 1950 to 1951 and in the Air Force from 1955 to 1972. After retirement, he moved back to Leal and in 1980, to Valley City, North Dakota. Elmer moved to the North Dakota Veterans Home in 2014 in where he resided until the time of his death.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel. An online guestbook is available at www.olivernathanchapel.com.
