www.lerudmathias.comLori Ann (Gierke) Laducer was born on May 20, 1970, in Valley City, ND, to Cheryl Gierke. She grew up in the Valley City area, with a strong spirit, a warm heart, and a determination that carried her through the many challenges of her life. From childhood, Lori faced the daily challenges of Type 1 juvenile diabetes, which brought many trials into Lori's life from an early age, and yet never dimmed her light. She will be remembered for her perseverance, determination, and the way she always held onto hope, even in the hardest seasons.
Lori graduated from Valley City High School in 1988 and later attended Minnesota State Community and Technical College for medical coding. One of her life dreams was to be a mother, and that dream came true when she had her daughter Kassandra Rose. Lori's life changed when her long-time friend Naomi introduced Lori to the love of her life and future husband Patrick Laducer. The couple began their life together in the Fargo/ West Fargo area and they were blessed with their son Trenton. Patrick and Lori were married on November 15, 1997. She worked as a CNA, medical coder, and receptionist for several health care systems in Fargo. Lori loved reading, cooking, sewing, traveling, taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets, being artsy, drawing, and doodling. Food and cooking were her "love language" and even in her last days she wanted to cook for everyone and feed them. She loved spending time with her loved ones, visiting, reminiscing, and laughing. Above all, Lori adored her granddaughters Khloie and Hazel, and her absolute favorite thing to do was spend time with them. Lori was a member of Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Fargo, ND. In 2017, Patrick and Lori moved back to Valley City to be close to their kids and grandchildren.
Lori is survived by her devoted husband Patrick; her children, Kassandra (Nick) Yokom and Trenton Laducer; granddaughters Khloie and Hazel Yokom; mother Cheryl Gierke; sisters Charlotte Lindermann and Barbara (Keith) Case, and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Wayne and Charlotte Komrosky: her uncle Jon Komrosky and aunt Susan Olson, her stepfather Lyle Grindahl; and her step-grandparents Carl and Amy Grindahl.
Lori endured a long, complex medical journey starting as a child, which included a kidney transplant, a kidney/ pancreas transplant, and she was awaiting a third kidney donation when her frail body was unable to go on. Even with all the trials her life entailed, Lori lived life to the fullest, carried hope until the end, and loved hard. Her life was a testament to resilience, deep faith, and the power of love. Lori touched countless lives with her strength and determination, and though her time here was far too short, her memory will live on in the laughter, compassion, and hope she inspired.
