Cala Sue McCallum Ross
Cala Sue McCallum Ross, 85, of Gold Hill Oregon took her last breath on November 21, 2022. Cala was born on November 5, 1937, to George Henry and Ellen Estelle McCallum in Eureka, California.
In 1960, Cala married her "Sweetheart" and the "Love of her Life" Clem Alfred Ross, whom she has spent the past 62 years happily married to. Cala left an amazing legacy behind as a loving and supportive wife and mother.
Cala was predeceased by her treasured father and mother, George and Ellen, her sister Joyce Hamilton, her brother Junior and her dear sweet daughter Debra Joy Birch (Ron), this past year. She is survived by her husband, Clem Ross, daughters Julie "Hamilton" Reyes (Leonard) and Tammie "Hamilton" Ashworth and son Mark Joseph Ross. Along with Rick Ross, Ron (Kay) Ross, Reggie (Tammie) Ross and Mark Thomas King. Grandchildren include Jonathan Gagliardi, Gary Davis, Mark Davis (Nina), George "B" Gagliardi (Sarah), Julie Lynn Ross, Joseph Moon (Alex), Tiffany Gagliardi Banks (Phillip), Blake Ashworth, Chase Ashworth, Aaron Ashworth, Robert Ross, Cala Estelle Anderson, Dena Ashworth and Clinton Ashworth, along with 15 great grandchildren. Her first cousin Nancy Wilson (Jim), niece Pamela Hazen and nephew George Hamilton.
Cala and Clem set a fine example of Love in their everyday life from the very beginning……They raised seven children together, yours, mine and ours, yet they never had a harsh word to say to one another. They sat together every morning discussing their day and sharing thoughts, having coffee with one another and never ever running out of things to share. If Cala had words of wisdom to impart, she did and never left you guessing!
Cala was proud of her "Native American heritage" through her father George McCallum & Great Grandmother Minnie Reeves. She was an honored (Chilula) Elder of the Hoopa Valley Tribe in Hoopa California.
Goodbye for now, Sweet Cala (momma), you left an imprint on our hearts, we will never forget.
