Dennis Audron Paine

Dennis Audron Paine was born February 9, 1942 and passed away from complications of heart disease on January 7, 2022, one month short of his 80th birthday.
Dennis was born to Audron and Louise Read Paine in Scotia, California, joining his older brother Tom, and followed by his younger brother Victor. He attended Scotia Elementary and Fortuna Union High School, Class of 1960. This past summer he enjoyed his 60th class reunion. Dennis also loved the time spent at the ranch at Camp Grant, the home of his grandparents and later his parents. He had many fond memories visiting family at Chalk Mt. Ranch.
After high school Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving in Hawaii, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. He became a telecommunications technologist. After the military he graduated from the University of Hawaii earning a degree in Business, and later studied telecommunications at George Washington University. Dennis worked for the U.S. Government in Saudi Arabia, San Diego and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. He later worked for several Department of Defense contractors and traveled to many assignments in foreign nations throughout his career.
Dennis retired from civil service in 2012 and enjoyed fine dining, wine, and traveling, especially to Europe. After retiring, Dennis resided in Palmyra, near Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a proud Marine and Veteran, and joined American Legion Post #74 in Charlottesville. He also was a member of The Dogwood Vietnam Memorial, the Central VA Veterans Group, the Lake Monticello and Fluvanna Conservatives Club, Fluvanna County Republicans, and the Marine Corp League.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents Audron and Louise Paine. Dennis was also predeceased by his older brother Tom, a retired Marine, and his younger brother Victor, a Marine killed in Vietnam in 1966. He was predeceased also by cousin and best friend, Lou Malone and Lou's wife Reiko Malone. Dennis is survived by a niece and nephew, and numerous cousins, and many good friends from his world travels. Private family graveside service will be held at a later date through Fortuna Cemetery District.
