So sorry to hear about Steve. I will always remember the wonderful times i share with him folk dancing (the Hambo) and being in Humboldt Light Opera productions. Lots of laughs, beautiful music - shared memories.

Knew Steve from way back, both in La Paz and Eureka! Always happy to see him back in La Paz. Great story teller. Lived a true Old Man of the Sea when dragged out into the Sea by a Marlin in his small dingy. Had to get towed in by a larger boat passing. A true friend and he will be missed!

So very sorry to read of Steve's passing. My sincere condolences to the family. I was sorry to read in the article that his mother had passed as well. I knew about his dad, but his mother was no longer living here, so I was unaware and am so very sorry. Both his parents were dear friends. I knew Steve and his brothers when they were growing up and members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Eureka. Steve lived a full life and will be missed. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

When we were about 10, Steve and I ran abound with Gary and Bruce in our neighborhood. I lived at 2307 Pine Street, and all I remember about those days was watching, with Steve, the apartment building next to my house on the north side being built by a one-man crew.
The Dokters lived two houses away from my house, a little closer to Buhne St. This was 1957 to 1959. My father moved elsewhere in Eureka in 1959, so the Dokter brothers and I never saw each other again. His obituary shows he lived a full life.

Founding member of NSSA. My husband Gary Poncia is one of the handsome young men in this photo and I believe Steve Dockter as well.
