James Ratzlaff Obituary

James Paul Ratzlaff

James Paul Ratzlaff was born October 19, 1966 and passed away on August 31, 2021.  He was 54 years old.  He was the son of Marlene Thomsen and Ray Ratzlaff.  He was prede-ceased by his step-father Raymond Thomsen, his Grandparents, and his Uncle Mike Simpson.  He is survived by his mother and father and his brother Jeffrey.  Also his Aunt and Uncle Dave and Sharon Simpson.  He lived his entire life in Humboldt County always threatening to move but never did.  He loved to cook and try out his creations on others.  He was a very good cook.  He loved collecting various things and trading items, working on cars and anything else that needed fixing.  He lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in 1989.  He never really recovered from this physically or mentally.  Thus, his life was never a really happy one.  He was however, loved very much by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.  There will be a visitation on Thursday, Sept. 9 @ 12:00- 1:00 pm at Sanders Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park after the visitation.
