July 18, 1950 - June 22, 2004
Jeanne R. Turner, a beautiful and loving person, was taken from us at the young age of 53, after a courageous five year battle with cancer.
She was born July 18, 1950, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Howard and Delia Henninger. Jeanne later found her way to Southern California, where she started her 18 year career with the Lancaster Post Office. In 1984, she moved her family to the beautiful area of Arcata, where she eventually retired from the Arcata Post Office.
Jeanne enjoyed going to Clam Beach and fishing for trout. She was an excellent cook. She enjoyed movies with friends and spending time with her family. Jeanne lit up the room she was in and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Al Turner; children, Christian, Genia, Jody, Dani, Bobbi and golden child Jason Mckelvy; 12 grandchildren; and sisters, Janet and Jim Lyon of Centralia, Wash., and Joan Biss of Fortuna.
Jeanne’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes be laid to rest with her parents in Centralia, Wash. The family will be having a memorial on August 21, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Valley West Mobile Estates in Arcata. All family and friends are welcome to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jeannie, did truly lite up a room, that she was in. We enjoyed many hours of laughter, and enjoyment, playing pool, and get togethers. I am sure she is in Heaven playing pool with Jan. She will truly be missed on this earth, but is no longer suffering. Her courage, her laughter, and her love, will live on forever, in our memories.
