Jerald Johnson Obituary

Jerald "Jerry" Johnson

Jerald Johnson passed away at his home on November 26, 2004.

He was born on July 17, 1940. Jerry owned the Eureka Body Shop for over 25 years and loved what he did. In the last few years he enjoyed working alongside his brother, Ray, at Raycon Construction. He was an avid trap shooter and loved the outdoors. One of the things he enjoyed the most was spending time with his grandchildren who called him little poppy.

Jerry is survived by his three children and their spouses, Kim and Tim Woolley of Cameron Park, Brent and Sherry Johnson of Cameron Park, and Rhonda and Steve Kowtko of Hydesville; his brother, Raymond Johnson and his wife Connie; seven grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Jamie, Preston, Kyle, Amanda, and Marissa; and his nieces, Raynell Tindall and Daynell Hayes.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother and father, Aunt Elsie, and good friend, Richard Oglesby.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Thursday, December 2, 2004, from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. at his daughter Rhonda Kowtko’s house located at 3100 Fisher Road, Hydesville, CA 95547.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of Eureka.

Jerry was my first boss. I was a nineteen year old with no experience and he gave me a chance. I have many memories of working at Eureka Body Shop. Working there was the start of my career and I appreciate that Jerry gave me a chance. I had not seen him in years but there were many times that I thought of him. He was always a gentleman.
