John was born on February 19, 1941, in Vinita Oklahoma, and passed away in Chelsea, Oklahoma, on October 6, 2006. He was the son of Lorene Faye Jackson and John Curtis Clements, Sr. He grew up in Chelsea and attended Chelsea High School. He joined the Navy in 1958 and served 22 years. He was part of the Seabee Unit where he served in Vietnam. During his Naval career John was decorated with 3 Good Conduct Awards, 2 Navy Unit Commendation Awards, a Vietnam Service Medal, served 15 Vietnam Service Campaigns, a Navy Achievement Medal, a Combat Action Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Medal and a Vietnamese Civic Action Medal. After transferring out of the Seabees he spent his remaining military years with the Security Division of the US State Department where he served in various embassies in other countries.
He retired in January 1980 and settled in Scotia, California, where he started a second career with the Pacific Lumber Company as an electrician lineman. He met and married the love of his life, Keitha Joetta Gay Clements, and together they were active in the community with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, parades and social functions. He played baseball, pitched horse shoes, like to hunt, enjoyed coin collecting and working with his hands building many things. John and Keitha raised their two sons and three step children and also helped in raising their grandchildren. He retired from the company 23 years later in February 2003 and he and his wife returned home to Chelsea, Oklahoma.
This year John was reunited with his Seabee Unit for a reunion in Las Vegas where they shared many past memories of their time together. He touched the lives of so many family and friends and will be missed by all and never forgotten. He is survived by his loving lifetime partner and devoted wife, Keitha, his children John Claude Clements and wife Myrna of Portland, Oregon, son Revil Edwin Clements and wife Alondra also of Portland, Oregon, step daughter Anna Gomez and her husband Alfredo and Illya Konnoff of Davis, California. He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin, William, Isabelle, Linus, Alex and Jacob, Aunts, Florene Drager, Helen Dawes, Pearl Pool and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, his brothers, Ted Clements, Pete Clements and sisters, Patricia Hughes, Pamela Paulson and his step mother Jessie McKee. John was preceded in death by his loving Mother, Lorene Jackson, Father, John C. Clements Sr., Dear Uncle Ray Drager, brother Richard Clements, Best Friend John Jeffers and his step son Ivan Konnoff. He leaves behind so many friends and family who knew what a great and honorable man he was. He will live in our hears forever. We Love You Pop!!!

Just this past weekend as I was out buck hunting, I thought of John and all the good times we had. We spent some quality time together, and I will never forget him. May he rest in peace.
