Kevin was born May 25, 1960, in Fortuna, California, and passed away May 6, 2008, at the age of 47, with his family by his side, after a brief illness affecting his heart.
Kevin attended local schools and for the past four years he had resided in Willow Creek, CA. Kevin loved the warm weather and living in Willow Creek. He definitely had a green thumb and usually had a beautiful garden and flowers. Kevin was without question a unique individual, and loved by many.
Kevin is survived by his parents, George and Barbara Hackett; brother, Tim and wife Danielle Hackett; nephew, Colton Hackett; and niece, Kasey Hackett. Kevin is survived by one grandmother, Stella Petersen and many other relatives both in and out of the area.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mad River Hospital for the kind and caring support.
Arrangements are under the care of Goble’s Fortuna Mortuary.
No formal services will be held. Donations can be made in Kevin’s name to Miranda’s Rescue, 1603 Sandy Prairie Road, Fortuna, CA 95540.

Kevin was such a special person, he loved to garden and I remember fondly the special lil things he would share...family memories, his adventuring,his love of family and home!. in 2005 we went to WillowCreek and camped...he was sitting in the stream and was so content...I will hold his love friendship and generous spirit in my heart Foverever...♡ GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN♡

Kevin had a heart of gold.....he gave me friendship during the most difficult time in my life...he was smart, and funny, and clever, and stubborn, and GIVING, a wonderful camper,difficult, a treasure hunter at heart, brutally honest, intuitive and brilliant...I will miss him dearly...he will live forever in my heart.....
