Kyle Carper Obituary

Kyle Wayne Carper was born on April 26th, 1986 in Eureka, Ca. He left us far too soon on May 28th, 2012 after fighting to survive a tragic accident. There are no words to adequately described the light that Kyle brought into this world and the loss that those who love him are feeling. From the start Kyle was a miracle baby. He was a fantastic and adorable child who always had a sparkle and joy for life in his beautiful blue eyes. Kyle attended Sunset Elementary, Sunny Brae Middle School and graduated from Arcata High in 2004. He took classes at College of the Redwoods before taking a job with Lehto Electric where he enjoyed working for the past 6 years with his boss and friend Chris Lehto. Growing up Kyle enjoyed playing soccer and spending his time surfing, skate boarding and snow boarding. He found joy in being in the outdoors and carried this with him throughout his life. He loved to go fishing and camping with his family and friends. Kyle was a huge sports fan and loved to watch his San Diego Chargers and the San Francisco Giants. Kyle was a true lover of music, especially hip hop, and he attended as many shows and festivals as he could. Kyle had such a love for all of the world's creatures, and he found peace in his fish tanks and in spending sunny afternoons at the beach or river. His parents, Ken and Colleen Carper, raised Kyle to be such a wonderful and amazing young man. He was a generous, kind and fun loving guy who loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was strong willed, open-hearted and had a genuine love for life. Kyle lived his life the way he wanted to and that's why he was so happy. He had the most beautiful smile that would radiate his beautiful soul, and his positive energy was infectious to everyone. He had more love in his heart the 26 years he was on this earth than most people have in their lives. He was loved by everybody who knew him and he welcomed people into his life with open arms. Kyle had the most amazing group of friends who he loved like his family. People felt privileged to be his homey. He was the light and strength in so many people's lives and he was the heart of his group of friends. Kyle truly was the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for and was the most giving man you could have known. He was always there to listen to you and help to support you with whatever problem you were having. He gave compliments freely and he never hesitated to tell you how much he loved you. He was always down to have a good time and he was usually the life of the party. Smart, funny, talented, hard-working, flirtatious and adventurous are just a few words that come to mind when thinking about Kyle. He always kept his eye on the horizon and his goals close so that he could make them a reality. He was someone you could trust with anything. He was a respectful, honest and polite guy... the definition of a true gentlemen and someone who we can never replace. Kyle was survived and loved by his parents Ken and Colleen Carper of Manila, Ca. Even though Kyle was an only child he had his cousin Melody Hayhurst who was his sister and one of his best friends. He is survived by her and his nephew Miles Hayhurst-John both of Eureka, Ca. He is also survived by his Aunt and Uncle Bill and Eileen Hayhurst of Eureka, Ca. His Aunt and Uncle Maureen and Tony Rodarte of Forest Hill, Ca. His cousin Josh Rodarte of Forest Hill, Ca. Cousins Gabe Rodarte and Jordan Rodarte and their families of Nashville and Clarksville, TN. His Uncle Curt Ohlsson and girlfriend Terri Cook, cousins Kristen Ohlsson and Nathan Ohlsson of Loleta, Ca. His cousins Justin Brown and Taylor Cook of Eureka, Ca. His Aunt Pat Moorehead of Big Lagoon, Ca. His Uncle Virgil Moorehead of McKinleyville, Ca. His cousin Shawna Neyra, her husband David Neyra and their family of McKinleyville, Ca. Cousin Virgil Moorehead Jr. of Berkley, Ca. His Aunt and Uncle Deb and Gordon Tillett and cousins Todd Carper and Casey Tillett and their families all of Texarkana, Ar. Uncle Rickey Carper of Texarkana, Ar and cousins Samantha Carper Isbell and family of Fort Worth, Tx and Rickey Carper of Texarkana, Ar. He is survived by his Manila "brothers" his best friends Steven Harris, Kris Terpening, Mario Ruiz, Tristan Manssonn-Perrone and Jake McGuire. Kyle inspired and influenced so many people and he is survived by many more family members and an extensive group of friends who will all miss, love and carry him with them forever. Kyle was preceded in death by his Grandparents Sam and Tink Carper of Texarkana, Ar and his Grandparents Cliff and Mickey Ohlsson of Eureka, Ca. He was also preceded in death by his "little buddy" Pat Shumard of Manila, Ca who we know was waiting for Kyle with open arms. Kyle's family would like to thank all of the family and friends who have supported us during the last couple of weeks. A special thank you to the Terpening family as well as to Dr. Aryanpur, Dr. Lieberson and the amazing ICU Nursing Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital. In his death Kyle and his family gave the greatest gift by becoming part of the organ donor program so that others could have a life that would not have been possible. His life will be carried on through other people and we know that he would be happy to be giving others life. A celebration of Kyle's life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday June 10, 2012 at Arrington Apples 4555 Mitchell Road Eureka, Ca 95503. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sunny Brae Middle School Booster Club 1430 Buttermilk Lane Arcata, Ca 95521. Please sign the guest book at www.Times-Standard.com, click obits.

Colleen,
I just learned today what happened to Kyle. There just is no way to adequately express the depth of your loss. I am so deeply sorry. I remember Kyle in my class. What a sweet person he was. So gentle and kind, fun and gregarious. Such a hard worker. Never condescending to anyone. He was the kid of student that a teacher wanted 30 of.

Colleen and Kenny,
Our prayers go out to you two for your loss of Kyle. Remember a lot of good times when Kyle and Jared were kids going to Sunset together and going through Boy Scouts as well. Doing the pinewood derby will never be forgotten. No words can describe the feelings you're going through, but know we are here should you need anything.
Love,

I read of Kyle's untimely death and your Gift of Life through donation of his organs. I was given that gift through a family's donation of the lungs of their 14 year old child two years ago. From imminent death I have recovered to lead a normal active life with my family. Your donation will carry on Kyle's spirit in the reclaimed lives of others. Thank you.

Coleen, Kenny, and Extended Family,
No human words can begin to fill the loss you
all feel at the sudden loss of Kyle. He was
an exceptional young man filled with a unique "zest" for living life. His passion for life;
his strength and purpose found in the centrality of his family and his generosity towards others are gifts he left this world. His presence you
will dearly miss; however, his courageous passing invites you to look for him in people, places, and situations you never dreamed
possible. His God-Light lives on.... It will never
go out! He will continually be at your side in love
memories and stories. May you continue to
find comfort with family and friends who assure
you that "caring" is all around you!
