Thomas Bradley Klapproth

1933 - 2017

THOMAS BRADLEY KLAPPROTH Tom was born on June 27, 1933 in Racine, Wisconsin. He passed away at home in Eureka on November 11, 2017 at the age of 84. He grew up in Racine, leaving to attend college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, majoring in fine arts. After a short hitch in the Army, he became a graduate student in art at the University of California at Berkeley, where he met and married his wife Judy in 1959. While in Berkeley, Tom was a policeman in the Berkeley Police Department, manager of the textbook department of the Associated Student UC store, held a similar position in a privately owned bookstore, and eventually manager of the student store at De Anza College. The Klapproths moved to Humboldt County in 1976, when Tom became a member of the Redwood Art Association and established his art studio, now in 208 C Street studio in Eureka, Ca. The family wishes to give fervent thanks to Agape Home Care and Hospice of Humboldt, they were professional, experienced and immensely comforting. He is survived by his wife Judy, sister Nona and brother-in-law Donald McSherry in Verona, Wisconsin. At the request of family, there will be no funeral.
