Dear Peggy and family,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your beautiful mother. I remember her as such a graceful, elegant, classy woman. She was always so warm when we were guests at your home both in Sunnybrae as well as Napa. I remember such happy times with you and all of our friends together at your home--putting on make-up, listening to music, talking about boys! One of the best times I remember was when Diane and I (was Lynne there too?) took the Greyhound bus to your home in Napa so that your mom could take us to San Francisco to shop for bridesmaids dresses for your wedding. Your mom took us to City of Paris and I. Magnin's to try on dresses and then to Trader Vic's for lunch. What a fabulous treat for some small town girls! That might have been a common experience for her but it certainly wasn't for us! She was so kind and made us feel like we really belonged there. Peggy, I know we haven't kept in touch much over the years but when I think of my best friends in school, four friends consistently come to mind--you, Brenda, Lynne and Diane. I hope that your happy memories of your mother will sustain you and your family during this most difficult time. Love, Kathleen
