Frank Bailey Obituary
Granite Masonic Lodge #35 of Barre, of which he was a Past Master, presented their memorial service to celebrate his life with Palmer Martin as Worshipful Master; Mark Tatro as Senior Warden; Patrick Perrault as Junior Warden; and Joseph Ryan as Chaplain.
The folded American flag was walked by grandson and Army Staff Sergeant Frank Bailey to family friend and fellow Barre Post #10 Legionnaire, Bruce W. Judd, who presented it to Wendon's eldest son, Brent Bailey.
The celebration continued with a tribute dinner at the K of C hall on Pine Hill Road in Barre Town. SSG Bailey had the Bailey family and their guests stand while nephew, Sgt. James Lanpher, sounded Taps.
Wendon's son, Brent, read the poem, "Ode to the Old," which his father had recently written, and daughter Brenda offered words of remembrance. Family friend Richard Swift also read a poetic tribute Swift had prepared.
A toast of Scotch was offered by his grandchildren as well as a song they had written for their grandparents when they were children.

Dear Brent, Kenneth, Brenda, Kevin, Brian and all your families
I was so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I always thought so much of both your parents, and enjoyed the time I spent with them and all of you. Especially the time spent at camp. Your dad was such a special person as was your mom. May they rest in peace together now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult. time.
No one really dies as long as they are not forgotten. We will never forget you Wendon.

Dear Bailey Family,
I am very sorry to hear that your father and grandfather died! He was such a creative, funny, nice guy to talk to who touched so many hearts in this community! You are all in my thoughts and prayers everyday and every night! Death is a very hard thing to recover from but just know that you didnt fully loose him. His spirit lives on within your hearts and so do the precious memories you had with him. Im sure that he and my little brother Chris who died 3 years ago with become greats friends. We will miss him.
His and my favorite spot in Vt was/is at Pigeon Pond.
He was a gentleman, loving the air in his plane. His Spirit is not gone. It is in the mountains, the trees, the water and the solitude of the Pond.

To The Bailey family...
I've only known Frank the last few years, but always felt that we'd been friends for decades. When I'd see him at the Legion on Friday or Saturday night, I'd always wave and say, "Hi, Mr. Bailey" and he'd shake his finger at me and say, "what's with this Mr. Bailey? My friends call me Frank". What a wonderful man he was. We will miss him terribly.

I may not have known you as long, but I could tell you were one of a kind from the first time I met you. Ive gotten to know Mr. Bailey the last few years and i got to say my life is better for it. I truly believe Barre has lost one of its greatest citizens. One of the best attributes i saw from him was that he treated EVERYONE with respect. His children must be so proud to have a dad that the whole community loves so much. I had the honor of calling this man Grampa. I will cherish every smile, hug, game of cribbage, joke, prank, and all the love shared with him. I will forever miss the "hey babe, how be yous?" and the honest laughter that came from him when he watched my children play. I remember many good times spent at Pigeon Pond when I was there with Lisa and how your Dad would drive the pontoon boat--it was a fun place to be as kids.
