James Dente Obituary
The Rev. Peter O'Leary, pastor of the church, was the celebrant.
Crucifer Thomas Prindiville was the altar server and led the prayer of the faithful.
Organist and vocalist Rosemary Badeau accompanied vocalists Ronald Routhier and Paul Plante in the hymns, "Amazing Grace," and "Be Not Afraid." Soloist Rosemary Badeau sang"Ave Maria" and "Surely the Presence of the Lord Is In This Place."
Words of remembrance were shared by his brother, Tom Dente.
Scripture readings from the Old Testament were read by Phil Provencher, a friend; and Rick Dente, brother, read from the New Testament.
Father O'Leary read the gospel and delivered the homily.
Offertory gifts were presented at the altar by Ashley Dente and Chantal Dente, both daughters; John Dente, son; and Travis McCracken, son-in-law.
Assisting as Eucharistic minister was Cecile Carbonneau, a family friend.
Pallbearers were his brothers Tom Dente, Rick Dente and Steve Dente; Phil Provencher, Charles Palmisano and Gary Croteau, friends.
Entombment followed the Mass, in the family mausoleum in Hope Cemetery in Barre where Father O'Leary read the committal prayers and gave the final blessing.
Following the entombment, family and friend gathered at the Mutuo Club on Beckley Street in Barre for a time of fellowship and luncheon.
Arrangements were in the care of the Pruneau-Polli Funeral Home, 58 Summer St., Barre, VT.
