Mabel Prince Obituary

MONTPELIER - Mabel F. Prince, 98, formerly of Independence Green in Montpelier, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

She was born in Lynn, Mass., July 17, 1912, to William and Minnie (Cook) Prince. She graduated from high school in Springfield, Mass., was employed at Westinghouse and at Monarch Life Insurance Company and attended the Baptist Church. She moved to Montpelier in 1988.

Mabel is survived by her brother, Clarence Prince, of Dunedin, Fla.; niece, Pam Wardlow, of Wathena, Kan.; nephew, Gary Prince, of Massachusetts; nephew-in-law, Richard Turner, of Montpelier; and her close friend, Joan DenBleyker, of Springfield, Mass.

A graveside service will be held at the Perryville Cemetery in Dudley, Mass., at a later date.

Aunt Mable was the BEST friend and positive supporter of me as a 25 year old girl engaged to be married to her 23 year old nephew, She remained so throughout our marriage. I have loved her now for 36 years. I will miss all those annual trips to MAINE!!!
