MARSHFIELD - On Feb. 22, 2009, Michael J. Phoenix passed away at his home in Marshfield after a year long battle with brain cancer. Judy, his wife of 31 years, was at his side.
Michael was born on April 8, 1958, in Bristol, Conn., to Lucien Phoenix of Newport, and Simone (Ayotte) Phoenix of Camden, Maine.
Mike was the owner of Phoenix & Son Construction which will continue under the management of his son, Daniel.
Mike was a generous and loving man, a godly and devout Christian who touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, their son Daniel and his wife, Julie; their two children; daughter, Amanda and her husband David and their eight children; daughter Laura and her husband David and their three children. He is also survived by four godchildren; one brother; five sisters, his father and mother, one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
"Almighty God, with whom do live the spirits of those who depart hence in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh, are in joy and felicity; we give thee hearty thanks for the good examples of all those thy servants, who, having finished their course in faith, do now rest from their labours. And we beseech thee, that we, with all those who are departed in the true faith of thy holy Name, may have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in thy eternal and everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. BCP"
Burial service will be in the spring at Christ Covenant Church in Marshfield.
