Scott Perreault Obituary
Born on May 28, 1979, in Berlin, he was the son of Michael Anthony and Sandra Ann (Couture) Perreault. He attended Barre Town Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1997. He obtained an Associates Degree in Horticulture and Landscaping from Vermont Technical College in Randolph.
Scott made his home in Graniteville before moving to South Barre. After graduating from college, he first worked at Sea World in Orlando, Fla. Returning to Vermont, he worked at and later purchased Hunt's Tree Farm in South Barre. He added landscaping services and started the Vermont Basement company.
In earlier years, he was a member of the Cub Scouts and played on the football team at Spaulding High School.
Scott was artistic and enjoyed doing pen and ink drawings. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and kayaking. He would be seen often times with his Great Dane "Lex."
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Sandra Perreault of Graniteville; his fiancée, Kathleen Duquette and his step-children, Tawney and Trey Kelty of South Barre; his maternal grandmother, Jane Couture of Danville, Ky.; his paternal grandfather, Joe Perreault of Barre; two sisters, Stephanie Perreault of Berlin and Nicole Perreault of Barre Town; nephews, Cameron and Nolan; niece, Mallory; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 2 p.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Interment will take place in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Websterville. Family and friends may call this evening (Monday) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.

I was just sitting here at my desk and out of the blue I began to think about Scott, what a true loss not having him with us. He was a very nice guy and left a mark on those that new him. I wish his family a happy new year.

I only knew your son/fiance professionally but he made such an impression. He cared about his customers and he cared about the quality of the job. You do not see that very often anymore. I can not begin to imagine the loss you are all feeling but I just wanted you to know that you raised a son that made a difference in a lot of people's lives and you did an exceptional job in teaching him respect and integrity. He loved his dogs and step kids immensely -- he spoke of them fondly. Thank God he blessed us with his presence even if it was only for a short time. God Bless

wow I cant believe it! I met scott just once while he was down in Mass. working for poineer basement. he came to my house to do an estimate on my basement repairs. After he left I thought to myself what a cool easy going guy. my condolences to his family and friends.

The tavern just isnt the same when we see Joey come in by himself. Scott was NEVER far behind if not already dragging Joey in! I met Scott 2 years ago when he came to our house, with Jon Joslin for a gathering. Jay and I really enjoyed seeing him play pool, and always crack funny jokes . That smile, o that smile! Squinty eyes, and that tight grin that seemed to extend from ear to ear, with just a bit of sarcasum. Scott sure had a way, that just made him ,... HIM. We are having a memorial pool tournament at the tavern June 1st 2010 . Tavern opens at 4 PM and the tournament is at 7 PM. It is a pot luck event, and we hired a DJ. Scott LIVED at our pool table, if he wasn't playing pool at home, it was at the tavern. There wil be a 50/50 raffle, and entry to the tournament is 10$. Proceeds from raffle and tournament will be evenly split between Kathy ( who works for us) and his parents. This gathering is to ease the burden of financial issues for Kathy and help to cover expenses handled by Sandy and Mike.I really hope so many of you will attend and show support. We ALL loved Scott in our own little way. Please call 522-2935 for any additional information needed. You do NOT have to know how to play pool to attend! Come remember old days with Scott, join in the 50/50 raffle to benefit the family, or make a breif stop to the tavern June 1st to drop 5$ in our donation bucket for Scott's memorial, that we will have there. There is not 1 day that goes by that I don't think of you guys and pray for the strength you need to get through this. I miss Scott and think of him everyday. He was a wonderful person & friend. I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I'll always remember Scott as a friendly neighbor who always had a smile on his face. He seemed to love just being near his family and enjoying time with loved ones such as at your weekly cookouts. He seemed to love working hard and running his businesses.
