Alta Anderson Obituary

Alta Joy Anderson
1930-2014
Alta Joy (Wilson) Anderson, 83, was embraced into the loving arms of Jesus on March 11, 2014. She died of age related causes with her loving family by her side.
She was born July 10, 1930 in Viewfield, S.D., and spent her early years on a small farm before moving with her family to Idaho at the age of six during the dust bowl. She lived the remainder of her life in the beautiful Treasure Valley.
One day when she was 17, she was driving the family home through Nampa when a boy followed her home and said "I want you to be my girlfriend". After exchanging names and scheduling an actual date, she began dating the love of her life. Alta married Wesley D. Anderson in Meridian on October 10, 1948. Together they had four kids and many adventures together. After the kids were all in school, Alta worked as a cook in the Nampa School Dist. until her retirement in 1993. She then joined Wes driving trucks, fishing and metal detecting, traveling, visiting family, and wintering in Arizona.
She is preceded by a son, Doran, brothers: Loyal, Ralph, and Dale Wilson; sisters: Luceal Lemon, Stella Clark, and Thelma Stuppy; and parents L. Peter and Verna Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Wes; her children: Gale (& Sandi) Anderson, Debbie (& Terry) Mullin, and Wes (& Robbin) Anderson, Jr.; nine grandchildren: Scott, Greg, Todd, Becky, Jennifer, Lisa, Arika, Shawna, and Samuel; seven great grandchildren: Elahna, Liam, Vince, Cameron, Ysabela, Daniella, and Alex; and two siblings: Loren Wilson and Celia Suttle.
A memorial service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18. A viewing will be held Monday, March 17, from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
The family wants to thank the many kind doctors and nurses who have given Alta care, and the staff at Legacy Hospice for the care, kindness, and attention they gave to Alta.
