Donald Crow Obituary

Donald R. Crow, a long term resident of Longmont, CO, passed away at his home on January 2, 2015. Don was born on August 25, 1939, in Sherman, TX, to Eugene Crow and Reba Michie. Growing up on his family ranch, Don had a passion for working with animals. His first love was horses, but also liked working with cows, which were bred and raised. His personal horse was Nubbin, which he dearly loved and frequently rode. He would often take long rides with Eva Jo, his early sweetheart and eventual wife, on over 1,000 acres of beautiful property. In the mid 1970's, Don relocated his family to Longmont, CO, where he continued to work for IBM in various roles. He loved the friends he worked with over the years and often spoke about fun memories. He eventually retired from the Company at the end of 1991. Two attributes that describe Don's life are 'generosity' and 'gentleness.' He never met a stranger, was always available to help, gave countless hours to those in need, and geniunely loved people. Whenever you saw Don, he always greeted you with a smile and a story. He was a wonderful role model to many. Don cherished time with his family, and especially spending time with his daughters. He loved the rodeo, reading, car racing, water and snow skiing, camping and golfing. He was a "regular" at the Denver Stock Show and Cheyenne Frontier Days. Often camping with friends and family, he fell in love with the beauty of Goose Creek, CO, which became his favorite camp spot. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather, and is surived by his wife, Eva Jo; his two daughters and their spouses, Stephanie Crow Smith and husband Terry, Michelle Crow Worlton and husband Jeff; 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Keaton, Kennedy and Kyla; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Billie Jean; and brother, Ronnie Crow. We love you Don, Dad, Pops, Papa, Sonny - you are dearly missed. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held in Don's honor at the home of Jeff and Michelle Worlton, 4663 Blanca Lane, Broomfield, CO 80023, on Saturday, January 31, 2015 between the hours of 1pm and 4pm. Please come join the family to help celebrate and share stories and memories in the way Don wished we would remember him. Our golfing and skiing and climbing Longs Peak were great. Almost as good as factory in Niwot. He was a good friend and a wonderful co-worker.

I'm very sorry to read this, my sympathies to Don's family. Don and I had a standing joke between us and always had a laugh whenever our paths crossed at IBM. You will be missed and remembered.

We had a lot of fun up at Goose Creek. It was a always a blast every time. I hope you enjoy the photo's even more now.

Don and I car pooled for a number of years and talked a lot about lifes journey and family.

May he rest in peace knowing that there are a great many folks still here that will miss him. My prayer is that the Lord grant Jodi and the family peace knowing that Don is with the Lord.

God Bless
