Jeanadell "Jean" Kennedy

1921 - 2021

With her family by her side, Jeanadell Deaton Kennedy, 99, of Longmont, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021, a mere six weeks before her 100th birthday celebration. She was born to the late Robert L. and Celia (Dean) Deaton on December 23, 1921 in Longmont. Jeanadell, nicknamed Jean as a child, attended Longmont grade schools through Longmont High School class of 1940. She married the late Floyd H. Kennedy in 1939, and lived in and around Longmont throughout their lifetime. Jean is survived by her sister Bobbie Deaton and four children: Shara Davies (Ray), Jerry Kennedy (Connie), Terri Tackitt, and Kent Kennedy (Lynn). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her Sister Louise Dodd, her loving husband of fifty years, Floyd in 1989 and daughter Kim Denise Kennedy Vondy in 2003. Jean claimed to be a domestic engineer being a full time stay at home mother and homemaker. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Jean treasured her children and embraced every moment with them and especially loved her role as Grandma. Jean had a vivacious personality and always made people around her smile and made lasting friends everywhere she went. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories from family and friends alike. Jean loved music and played the piano by ear her entire life. Her family and friends were always in awe that she could hear a song, sit down and play it. She could very well be playing for our heavenly Father today. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation has been held and the family will hold an inurnment later.
