Scott Baker Obituary

Scott Lawrence Baker of Longmont passed away January 2, 2024 at the age of 62. He was born April 18, 1961 in Boulder, Colorado. Scott attended Longmont High School where he played trombone in the marching band and graduated in 1979. Scott was a skilled carpenter who worked for Baker Remodelers, his Father's business, for over 30 years. He also worked for various construction companies over the years and rose to the role of Superintendent, most recently holding this position for Williams Construction. Scott married Tracey Liakos December 13, 1980. They had one daughter together, Erika Baker-McHenry. While this relationship ended, Scott and Tracey maintained an excellent friendship. Scott was a great person who had many interests including, but not limited to, racing, football (his favorite team was the Denver Broncos), fishing, hunting, and a huge passion for cars (especially his 1969 Roadrunner). He was preceded in death by his Father, Jack Baker, Mother, Marion Jochems, and Stepfather, Jim Jochems. He is survived by his daughter, Erika Baker-McHenry of Longmont, CO (Iain); his fiance Cathey Meyers of Longmont, CO; his sisters Robin Martinez of Orange, CA (Carlos) and Erin Baker of Longmont, CO (David); his stepmother, Mary Sue Baker of Boulder, CO; two grandchildren - Grace Baker and Gavin McHenry; and his niece Chelsea Kochevar. A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Longmont on January 11, 2024 at 12PM.

During the high school years, Scott spent so much time at our home with my brother he was like a second brother...what those two couldn't get up to..probably best we don't know!
