He was my first best friend. My favorite uncle. He holds some of my favorite childhood memories. From him picking my curls out into a baby 'fro, to watching him lift weights while I sat at his drawing desk drawing him pictures. I just loved being around him any chance I got. He will always mean so much to me and I will keep his memory alive through all of his silly stories,my wonderful memories, and best of all, our pictures. He loved sitting around looking at old photos and talking about those times and in his eyes you could see how badly he wished he could relive those times. And now I will understand his longing when I sit and look at pictures of him. I will forever love my dear uncle and I will miss him more than words can explain. I just pray he has found peace and is free. I will see you in every tree and wood sculpture, especially the ones you made. I will feel you in every beautiful day made for barbequing. I will here you in the sound of sandpaper and hammers. 80s&90s music will always make me think of you. Little league games and races will remind me of you. And any man wearing cargo shorts and work boots, showing off a freckled and sunburned back will make me look twice for I will see you in them. I miss and love you. Rest peacefully. I hope to see you standing there when my time comes<3

Jay will live on forever in the memories of my growing up years. So many wonderful times having fun and just being kids. I often wish life could forever be so simple. Much love and prayers for strength and peace for the Startup family.
