Vercel Lee Miller

Vercel Lee Wright Miller, 92, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, with her daughter Dianne at her side.

She was the daughter of the late Fletcher Wright and late Delma Reece Wright. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Osborne Miller; sister, Carol Mulkey (Charles); brothers, Gene Wright (Christine), Paul Wright (Barbara), Harold Wright (Mary) and infant brother, Cecil Wright; brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Jim Waters (Jean) and Edmund Miller (Sue); and her special lap dog, Ellie.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Dianne Miller, of the home; many nieces and nephews and her special church family.

She enjoyed going to church service, sewing dresses for little girls in Africa, quilting, gardening, flowers, crafts and especially birdhouses. She was a member of the Ellijay Church Christ and over the years she has taught many Sunday school classes while living in South Carolina.

Celebration of life was held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Ellijay Church of Christ in Ellijay, with Minister Jeremy Green officiating. Music was by the church congregation; singing was led by Barry Kinglsey; prayers by Mark Pettit and Tim Hall. Private family internment followed the service at the Yukon Cemetery in Ellijay. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers for the service, Ronnie Wright, James Wright, Eddy Mullinax, Ken White, John Johnson and Junior Jenkins.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery Fund in memory of Vercel Wright Miller.
