Professor Alan Searing Loxterman, 88, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia. A beloved educator, scholar, and community member, Alan's life was marked by intellectual rigor, artistic passion, and deep personal connections.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Ann Langdon Loxterman.
He will be remembered as thoughtful yet provocative; funny yet profound; charming yet grounded; a gourmand with a taste for life's richness in all its forms. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on August 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at River Road Baptist Church, 8000 River Road. Reception to follow in the parlor.
