Alberta Margaret Randle

RANDLE, Alberta Margaret, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She was the younger daughter of the late Gladys and Albert Martin of Poole, Dorset, England. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Anthony "Tony" Randle; and her daughter, Karen R. Clements. She is survived by her son-in-law, David Clements; and a grandson, Justin R. Branch, U.S.N.; and several nieces and nephews in England. She first came to this country with her husband to Indianapolis, Ind. in 1959 through 1960, when he spent a year with the U.S. Finance Corporation. They later returned to this country in 1964 and lived in Scarsdale, N.Y. She became active with the Scarsdale Auxiliaries for the White Plain's Hospital, was a member of the Scarsdale Women's Club and was a member of Saint James the Less Episcopal Church there in Scarsdale. In 1973, she moved to Easton, Pa. with her husband. She served for several years as a member of the Easton Chapter of the American Red Cross. She was asked to become a member of the Women's Board for Easton Hospital, where she served 16 years, including a two-year term as its president and remained an honorary member of the group. In 1983, she joined the Hospital's Board of Trustees, serving as its chairman from 1989 to 1992. Following this four-year term, she continued her service to Easton Hospital as Vice Chairmen of Valley Health, the parent company of Easton Hospital. During her time in Easton, she served as the Eastern Regional Representative of the Board of the Hospital Trustee Association of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Partnership for Community Health in the Lehigh Valley. She also served as the hospital's delegate to the Board of Directors of the Carl and Emily Weller Center for Health Education from 1986 to 1989. In 1992, she was the recipient of the Two Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award. The Morning Call of Allentown, Pa. in 1993 recognized her with its Community Spirit Award for 20 years of volunteer service to Easton Hospital.

It was in 1994 when she and her husband moved to Richmond to be near their daughter and her family. She then became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church here. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street in Glen Allen. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
