To the Spurlock family;
Our condolences go out to Barbara and the children. This is very sad news that we just learned of today. May your faith in God and the memories that you had with Alfred carry you through the future. He was great guy and a good neighbor to us in the community. He will be missed. Respectfully. The L. Freeman Family.

To Barbara and Dee, and Freedy and Fields, family,friends and everyone who knew and loved Spurlock. To be aquainted with him in the most casual way was to know that smile that started at the corner of his mouth and would spread over his whole face and land in the eyes of the one looking at him. The one that stuck out the most for me was when I called him by his never- before -mentioned to me, his nickname SPEEDY-ROCK. I will always remember that look and that smile. How you know Neice? he said still smiling. Rest in Peace Speedy-Rock you are greatly loved by us here, but the Love of God is the Greatest love of us all.

For many years working at the Hill, I knew him as Spurlock only, the man who always had a smile on his face and in his heart. He was a very humble man who never did things to draw attention to himself but he always had a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on when you needed it. Me being a Cowboy fan never deterred him from swapping jabs with each other about our teams whether win or lose. I know in my heart that you are in a beautiful place filled with beautiful souls Spurly....and it's always your birthday in Heaven. May God surround your family with his Love and Understanding and may they find Peace.

I extend my deepest sympathy to the family. Spurlock was a co-worker, GOOD Guy, and friend. He always had a smile on his face, kind words, a great sense of humor, and a listening ear. We will miss seeing, talking, and laughing with this all around GREAT Guy. Keep your hands in God's unchanging hand and he will see you through.

My most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family Alfred leaves behind. Know that he will surely be missed. Though I knew him only a few short years while stationed at Fort A.P. Hill, Alfred was always a joy to talk and kid with. He was a great person. His work and dedication to the nation and his family will be his legacy. God Bless you always and know too that someday we will all be reunited in heaven!
