Ann Farnsworth

Ann Marie Orebaugh Farnsworth, age 98, died Monday, September 14, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Charles P. Farnsworth, her father, Oran B. Orebaugh, her mother Francis Godsey Orebaugh, and her sisters, Virginia O. Hanky, and Jane O. Stephens, and her niece Dianne S. Baker. Ann is survived by her step-children Charles Farnsworth (Russell), nephew William C. Hanky Jr., cousin Judy Garnett, great-niece Lisa Connelly (Jonathan), her great-nephew Stephen Baker (Sarah), and her nephew-in-law Allan Baker (Dianne).

Ann retired after many years of service with the Federal Government, having served with the National Parks Division and The Office of Management and Budget. She enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching golf and especially University of Virginia football and basketball. Ann was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, having served on church council, as treasurer, as well as many years on the altar guild.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 2nd at Bliley's Funeral Home, Staples Mill Chapel at 8510 Staples Mill Road. The funeral service will be October 3rd at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 7809 Woodman Road, Richmond, VA 23228. The service will be followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
