Ann Morris Hogg Obituary
Ann was blessed with five grandchildren: Ann Tyler Hogg Wheeler and husband Barrett, Michael Thomas Hogg and wife Ann Somers, Emily Hogg Battin and husband Brian, Anna Elizabeth Hogg, and Katherine Mae Hogg. She was very grateful to know and love her five great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
After graduation from New Jersey's Plainfield High School and Centenary Junior College, Ann began work as an X Ray Technician at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. While there she met the love of her life, Buddy Hogg, and after their marriage, they began their life together in Hampton, VA. They set up a dental practice and Ann became Buddy's assistant, office manager and chief bookkeeper. Upon their retirement they enjoyed traveling and during our father's last days, Ann served as his caretaker.
Ann loved working so much, she continued after retirement by volunteering. She especially enjoyed "working" at Same Day Surgery at the Sentara CarePlex Hospital, at the dental office of Dr. Robert J. Feild, and the Best of Friends Gift Shop in the Hampton Public Library. The rest of her free time was spent working out at the Hampton YMCA or walking many trails.
A member of Hampton Baptist Church, Ann served on the flower committee and visited home bound members. In 2019, Ann left her home of 65 years and moved into The Chesapeake Retirement Community where she was fond of the staff and her many friends.
Please join us for a memorial service on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 4 p.m. at Hampton Baptist Church, 40 Kings Way, Hampton.
