Anne Murphy Tesh

1933 - 2021

TESH, Anne Murphy, age 87, of Henrico, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was born on August 13, 1933, in Thomasville, N.C., to Fred C. and Margaret C. Murphy. Anne was a longtime member of River Road Presbyterian Church, and active in her community as a member of both Tuckahoe Woman's Club and Chesmond Woman's Club. She was an accomplished and creative artist who once received "Best in Show" at the Tuckahoe Woman's Club Art Show. Anne, with a flare of style and fashion, was extremely passionate about Christmas. She thoroughly enjoyed transforming her home into a Christmas wonderland every year. She was affectionately known by her family as "Mother Christmas." Anne loved to cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for family and friends. She was a sweet, gentle and loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially loved being "mom." She was a kind soul who will be missed by all. Anne is survived by a son, David Tesh (Marie); a daughter, Jenny Tesh; a grandson, Mike Tesh (Carrie); two great-grandchildren, Riley Tesh and Everett Tesh; and Steve Umstead and his daughter, Stephanie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Julius Harry "Jay" Tesh; and brother, Fred C. "Bud" Murphy. Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
