Audrey Bialkowski Obituary

Audrey Diane Bialkowski

March 21, 1948 - January 26, 2025

Audrey Diane Bialkowski, known lovingly as Diane, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Richmond, Virginia, leaving her family and friends heartbroken and stunned. Born on March 21, 1948, in Richmond, Diane lived, worked, and worshiped in the city she cherished throughout her life.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Joseph Bialkowski and Audrey Bialkowski. She is survived by her beloved brother-dear, Emil "Joe" Bialkowski Jr., his wife, Rhonda, and her cherished niece, Katheryn (Derrek). Diane also leaves behind her treasured dog, Sam, who has been her loyal companion since puppyhood, as well as her dear friend, Maureen McCabe, many close relatives, Godchildren, friends, and countless children whose lives she helped shape through her work as a life-long educator.

Diane's dedication to children and their education defined her life's purpose. Her career began in the classroom as a devoted teacher and later expanded into leadership roles within the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Even after retiring, Diane couldn't leave her calling behind. She continued to substitute teach, mentor, and eventually work part-time as a school librarian at All Saints Catholic School, building personal connections with every child she encountered. She cherished her students, celebrating their individuality and encouraging their growth at every stage.

Diane was a woman of deep faith and unwavering kindness. A devout Catholic, she prayed the rosary nightly and was a constant source of support and prayer for anyone facing challenges. Her generosity knew no bounds-she would always go out of her way to make others feel valued and cared for.

Outside of her work and faith, Diane loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and sharing her joyful laugh with those she loved. She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her selflessness, and her profound impact on the community she loved.

A funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Epiphany on February 27, 2025, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Diane Bialkowski Scholarship Fund at All Saints Catholic School by phone 804-329-7524, or mail to All Saints Catholic School, ATTN: Pamela Wray, 3418 Noble Ave., Richmond, VA 23222.

The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Diane's kindness and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I am stunned by Diane´s passing! We worked together at St. Bridget´s for several years, and she was such an inspiration to her students and to me. I know she will be missed, but she is now dancing with Jesus. Diane, please give Sr. Louis a big hug!
