Barbara Wilburn Davis

January 25, 1936 - January 7, 2026

Barbara Wilburn Davis, 89, of Bon Air, Virginia, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shelton Davis; eldest son, Robert Scott Davis; parents, Stafford Ellis Wilburn and Helen Hatcher Wilburn; and sister, Julia Wilburn Knoell. Survivors include her son, Bruce Wilburn Davis, and grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis Scribner (Kenneth), Grace Virginia Davis, and Connor Bruce Davis.

Barbara was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on January 25, 1936. She attended E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, where she played softball and was a cheerleader, and graduated in 1954. Barbara married her lifelong husband, Robert, on November 11, 1961. Together they moved to Richmond in 1968.

Barbara worked her entire career in retail banking starting as a teller, then head teller, and finally she became the head of training for new tellers. Barbara started with First National Bank, then United Virginia Bank in Richmond, which went through many name changes, Crestar, SunTrust, and finally Truist Bank. She spent most of her career with United Virginia Bank and Crestar.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Barbara's home church for over 50 years, The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2341 Winterfield Rd., Midlothian, VA 23113. The service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with the Reverend Dr. Mollie Roberts presiding.
